Tryout Information for Summer 2009 Lifeguarding

There will be two tryouts this spring. The first will be Saturday, February 28, 2009. The second tryout will be Saturday, March 14, 2009. The physical events portion will begin at 9:00 AM (sign-in starts at 8:00 AM) at the Main Beach Lifeguard Tower (The White Tower). More information on tryouts can be obtained by downloading and reading the documents below. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the PDF files. It can be downloaded for free by clicking on "Get Acrobat Reader". If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Marine Safety.

To participate in tryouts please read the Job Description & Requirement, complete the Application for Employment and sign the Testing Waiver.

  • Testing Waiver: (PDF) (9k) or (Word) (28k) - PLEASE COMPLETE
  • The testing waiver can also be obtained from Lifeguard HQ or on the day of tryouts (Saturday, February 28 or March 14, 2009). The waiver MUST be signed to participate in tryouts. Applicants under 18 years old MUST have a parent sign the testing waiver to participate in tryouts and/or training.
