Laguna Beach Lifeguards
Shaw's Cove

This beach is at the base of Fairview Street and is approximately 500 feet in length.

Popular activities are swimming, boogie boarding, skin diving, scuba diving, and rock and surf fishing. (skimboarding is not allowed). The popularity of this beach as a diving and sports fishing location warrants a reminder that all of Laguna's Beaches are within a Marine Life Refuge. All forms of marine life except those listed on the sign at the top of the stairs are protected. This beach is secluded, and most of it's visitors are locals or regulars.

Hazardous conditions may exist throughout this cove. Under high surf conditions, the point to the north is especially dangerous to people walking to and from Crescent Bay. The surf is often a mild shore break, however, causing only small rip currents to form along the rocky points. When conditions are mild enough to permit it, the rocks are pleasant for fishing, strolling and tide pooling.
